UMBI Hosts Program On Job and Career Search Best Practices

Preparing students for success in the working world upon graduation is something that we take very seriously. Recently we invited Joe Saxby of Lab Tests To Go to come speak with our students.

He discussed how they can effectively plan and execute their job search. He also answered man of their questions regarding how to successfully interview for and land the job that they are looking to get.

“Professionalism is very important, as well as putting your best foot forward,” said Mr. Saxby. He also was very clear with our students about the importance of taking every job interview very seriously. “You cannot afford to be lax or unprofessional”.

Medical assistant James Monroe had this to say after the program ended: “I learned many do’s and don’ts of the interview process”

Jamese Jones also spoke about some of the things that she took away from the speech: “I learned that nobody listens to complainers”.

We will continue to hold events and programs centered around preparing our students for life after UMBI.
